Ghana Cocoa Purchases Jump to 797,000 Tons by April 21, State Board Says
Cocoa purchases from farmers in Ghana reached 797,000 metric tons by April 21, which is about 300,000 tons more than had been bought by the same time last year, said Yaw Adu-Ampomah, deputy chief executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board.
In the 29th week of the crop season, 17,000 tons of beans were purchased, Adu-Ampomah said by phone today. The Ghanaian cocoa harvest began in October.
